I am a massage therapist and the founder of Sway Massage. I trained at the Bristol College of Massage and Bodywork, gaining a Holistic Massage MTI level 4 qualification. I have an advanced diploma in Deep Tissue Massage. I also practise Indian Head Massage, Pre-natal Massage, Reflexology, and Thai Foot Massage, as well as Kinetic Chain Release.

Massage Therapy

I work from a cosy and peaceful room in Southville. When we meet, we will work together to plan a massage treatment that will benefit you according to your needs on the day. Prior to the first appointment, I ask that you complete an initial consultation form so that I can find out about your lifestyle, general health and where you are experiencing tension or pain prior to the massage. This way you can get maximum time for the hands on massage (alternatively we can talk through the consultation in person before the massage).

Kinetic Chain Release

"Kinetic Chain Release is a specifically crafted, simple protocol to gently free the human body of its physical and energetic blocks to return the body to its natural, dynamic, energized, active and lively State."

Further to massage therapy, I also offer Kinetic Chain Release (KCR) treatments. The duration will be 60-75 minutes including consultation, but I also offer it as a pre-massage treatment (starting from 30 minutes in length). Kinetic Chain Release (KCR) is a total-body treatment of medically and scientifically approved gentle mobilisations and stretches developed by Scottish Physiotherapist Hugh Gilbert.

Focus on Whole-Body Alignment: KCR emphasizes the interconnectedness of the body's systems and how imbalances in one area can affect other areas. It aims to rebalance the body by addressing joint restrictions and muscle tension.

Specialized Technique: KCR is a structured protocol involving a series of specific mobilizations and stretches, making it a specialized treatment that requires training and expertise to perform.

Holistic Approach: KCR practitioners often take a holistic approach, considering the body as a whole and addressing the underlying causes of imbalances, not just symptoms.

Why haven’t you heard of KCR before?

Kinetic Chain Release (KCR) might not be widely known because it's a more specialized, manual therapy technique used to rebalance the body through gentle mobilizations and stretches. While it's gaining traction among practitioners and individuals seeking holistic healing, it's not as mainstream as more common therapies like massage or physical therapy.

Growing Popularity:

While not as widely known, KCR is gaining popularity among therapists and individuals seeking alternative approaches to pain management and injury recovery.

Limited Public Awareness:

The lack of widespread advertising and public awareness compared to more mainstream therapies may also contribute to its lower profile.

Who Can Benefit from KCR?

Anyone with a body—young or old! KCR quickly restores balance, relieving issues like weak ankles, knee, hip, back, shoulder, and neck pain, TMJ, and headaches. People feel rapid relief and renewed energy with this proven technique.

My practice is LGBTQIA+ friendly, and I offer loyalty discounts, as well as a 20% discount to those on an income of less than £15,000 per year.

I have seen how stress can wreak havoc on people – physically, mentally and emotionally – leading to an array of health issues.

In taking responsibility for my own health and wellbeing, I have developed a keen interest in bodywork. It is all about reconnecting the mind with the body. My desire is to be part of the solution to the epidemic of chronic stress. Regular massage therapy can help people reach optimum wellbeing!

Alongside my work at Sway Massage, I also work with people with additional needs and am a yoga teacher. Please email me at yogashantibristol@gmail.com should you wish to join my weekly online class at any point, Monday evenings from 7.30-8.40pm GMT (£6/class and free to concessions).
